Leadership Team

Meet your board of directors! YNPN Triangle NC is a completely volunteer-run organization. We're always looking for new voices and emerging leaders to join us at the table. Please reach out to any of us below with your questions and ideas on how we can better support you - our members!

Katrina Pareja (she/her/hers) - Vice Chair
Katrina's mission is to make compassion a career. As Vice Chair,
she supports the Board Chair in managing overall strategy and management of the organization and board. She currently works as a Coordinated Entry Support Specialist at Oak City Cares, serving our friends and neighbors in Wake County experiencing homelessness. Born and raised in Charlotte, Katrina has called Raleigh home for over 10 years. She earned a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Nonprofit Studies at NC State and these days she spends most of her free time curled up with her miniature dachshund Chip.

Katrina Kulik (she/her/hers) - Governance
Katrina is a dedicated humanitarian health professional with more than eight years of experience in the nonprofit sector. She has worked with a community development corporation, a free medical clinic, a refugee resettlement agency, and currently works for with informal settlements, or slums, in Kenya. Katrina’s mission is to improve the lives of people around the world. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising from the University of Georgia and a Masters of Applied Science in Humanitarian Health from Johns Hopkins University. Outside of work, Katrina stays busy doing DIY work on her home, working out, trying new things, traveling, entertaining her new puppy, and exploring North Carolina with her husband. The two created the North Carolina County Seat Challenge with a goal to have a coffee and/or beer in all 100 North Carolina County seats in their lifetime. Going into 2022 they are at 40.

Special Recognition and Thanks:

Dawn A Crawford
Principal/Communicator, BC/DC Ideas
Dawn has dedicated her career to nonprofit communications and marketing and is an independent consultant for BC/DC Ideas. Dawn is the creative marketing and social media force behind YNPN Triangle NC's initial success and we thank her for her dedicated volunteer work!

Kacie Wiersma
Kacie identified the need for YNPN Triangle NC and set on a quest to encourage its development before moving out of state. Kacie moved to North Carolina and worked to begin the local YNPN chapter, but moved to another state for a job position before she was able to see the work completed. Special thanks to her for identifying the need in the Triangle and assisting in making it happen!

Kay Castillo
Kay was instrumental in the early days of YNPN Triangle, helping us get organized and off the ground. As an advocate for all young nonprofit professionals, her leadership helped steer YNPN Triangle NC and put us in the strong position we are in today.
